Animal Welfare (Painful Husbandry Procedures) Code of Welfare 2005

Anyone who intends to carry out any procedure, with or without instruments, which involves physical interference with the sensitive soft tissue or bone structure of an animal, and is carried out for non-therapeutic reasons, must be aware of the following codes of welfare. You must comply with the minimum standards in those codes and the general provisions of the Animal Welfare Act 1999 (offsite link to www.legislation.govt.nz).
