The Biosecurity Council released a draft Biosecurity Strategy on Monday 16 December 2002 and the final round of consultation on this closed on Monday 3 March, 2003.

The Government intends to finalise the Biosecurity Strategy before June 2003, after analysing submissions and assessing strategic and operational policy options.
