Draft IHS for consultation - Salmonids for Human Consumption from Specified Countries

As part of the consultative process in the development of the import health standard for the importation into New Zealand of Salmonids for Human Consumption from Specified Countries, MAF Biosecurity New Zealand has distributed the following draft document(s) for public consultation and comment:

• Draft import health standard for salmonids for human consumption from specified countries (321 Kb)

• Additonal Background Information: Review of zoosanitary requirements for import into New Zealand if salmonids for human consumption from specified countries (fissalic.spe) in relation to potential import from Chile (179 Kb)

We have amended the current import health standard to include Chile based on the Additional Background Information.

Submissions on these draft documents should be forwarded to MAF Biosecurity New Zealand by close of business on 13 August 2008. Depending on the results of consultation, it is anticipated that the new requirements will be in as soon as possible after consultation. MAF Biosecurity New Zealand encourages respondents to forward comments electronically to the email address below.
