Country Freedom and Commodity Pest Lists
Country Freedom list
The country freedom list contains the names of organisms for which country freedom reports have already been completed. It is not a comprehensive list of organisms present in or absent from New Zealand.
Access to the list is password protected. You can apply for a password here
The list may be used for the provision of additional declarations without any further survey, inspection or testing actions where the importing country specifies: Country, Area, Crop, Site or Consignment freedom, from one or more of these pests.
Some countries require additional declarations (also known as ADs) as well as phytosanitary certificates. These declarations state that New Zealand is free from a specific organism (once this is confirmed by Biosecurity New Zealand).
Commodity Pest lists
Similarly, the commodity pest lists are of organisms (mostly pests and diseases) that have been recorded on a selection of plant commodities being exported from New Zealand.
Access to the pest list is password protected. You can apply for a password here.
The lists are sent to selected importing countries for them to identify any organisms that are considered of quarantine concern and that are actionable if intercepted on arrival.
