  • Auckland Air Cargo
    A public counter will operate solely for Private Importers who need to gain clearance for freight at Air Cargo (such as live animals or personal effects).
     
    This site will handle all on-site inspections of air freight, all air freight and courier manifests and BACC production for Air Freight Fresh Produce.
     
    NB: Please do not send applications for BACCs except Air Freight Fresh Produce as delays will occur.

    NB: Commercial consignments submitted by agents can be submitted over the counter but will not be processed at the counter, instead these consignments will be added to the existing work queue and the BACC's returned by fax.
     
    This group will handle all BACC production for both Air and Sea Cargo and Courier freight (except break bulk vehicles and Air Cargo fresh produce). This group is also responsible for the Approval of Temporary Transitional Facilities and the Sea Container Audits.

  • Facilities Approval Group (Auckland)
    The facilities approval group is accountable for the monitoring and approval of MAF Approved Transitional Facilities (ATF's) within the Auckland Area. This Group is also responsible for the monitoring and approval of containment facilities (including Post Entry Quarantine Facilities) in the Auckland Area.
     
    The processing of applications for approval will vary depending on the type of approval requested. At a minimum please allow 1 month.

Service Delivery targets for Auckland facilities

MAF Biosecurity New Zealand - Auckland Cargo works to service delivery targets for certain functions. These are: BACC and Stamp Release Processing Time, Booking Lag and the Wait Time on Phone Calls. The specific targets are presented below. Where available current performance data is included.

BACC processing time (Turnaround time)

  • Stamp Releases - 4 hours (between the operational hours of 0600-1800).

  • Sea Cargo - 24 hours (Monday-Friday).

Booking lag (time between booking requested and booking able to take place)

  • Booking lag - 48 hours

Phone Call Wait Time (Wait time is the time taken from when the call is presented to the final queue and when the phone is answered, it is not the total length of the call)

  • Wait Time (schedulers) - <1 minute
