Forest Products Export Standards - Phytosanitary Requirements of New Caledonia

Heat treatments The following schedules may be used if schedules are not specified on the import permit:

Any heating process which achieves a core temperature of 74°C. Timing of kiln schedules begins when temperature and humidity in the chamber has stabilised. Times for different log diameters are:
100 mm - 10 hrs
150 mm - 14 hrs
200 mm - 18 hrs
Where all dimensions of the log are greater than 200mm duration must exceed 18 hours.
Preservative treatments The following preservative treatments may be used if preservative treatments are not specified on the import permit:

Boron compounds
0.1% Boric Acid equivalent minimum loading in the sapwood core.

Copper + didecyldimethyl ammonium chloride (DDAC)
0.35% mass/mass OR
2.8 kg/m3 for softwoods,
5.6 kg/m3 for hardwoods

Copper Azole
0.27% mass/mass OR
1.35 kg/m3 for softwood,
2.7 kg/m3 for hardwoods

Copper Chrome Arsenic (CCA)
0.27% mass/mass OR 3kg/m3 minimum retention
Copper Chrome Arsenate treatment hazard classes H1-H6 are acceptable.

0.04% minimum preservative loading in sapwood core

Permethrin
Minimum retention of not less than 0.06% mass/mass
