Import Health Standard
(79 KB)
This regulatory document contains the full scope and associated import requirements. All importers should read this document outlining the biosecurity requirements that must be met to import bovine embryos.
Guidance Document
(310 KB)
All importers are directed to this document to view the specific guidance information explaining how importers can meet the requirements of the import health standard - this includes approved country lists and agreed veterinary certificates.
Currently, only Canada has approved veterinary certificates to meet this standard. A transition period of 4 months applies to allow donor animals to be prepared in accordance with new conditions. In this period both the previous and the current standards (including certification requirements) are accepted.
New veterinary certificates for the other approved countries are under negotiation and existing import health standards may be used in the interim.
