Many people arrive in New Zealand on an ocean-going vessel, whether a cruise ship or a private yacht. If you are arriving here on a private vessel you should be aware of the precautions you should undertake Before you Arrive.

Various requirements exist for the arrival of Cruise Ships and Yachts into New Zealand waters

Travellers should have an understanding of what Biosecurity measures they can expect to encounter on arriving here, such as What You Cannot Bring into the country.  A theme for those arriving for a visit is - if in doubt, Declare it (158 Kb). Penalties exist for bringing in risk goods and false or incorrect declarations.
