When temporarily leaving New Zealand, Biosecurity New Zealand urges you to keep in mind what items might prove difficult to bring back here, ie anything that would be considered a biosecurity risk.
This includes anything you take overseas from New Zealand and then try to bring back into the country.

If you wish to take any animal or plant matter out of New Zealand, please contact the Consulate concerned for up-to-date information on import requirements for your destination. See also the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade

If the goods require a PC (Phytosanitary Certificate), you must bring the produce to the MAF Aircargo Clearance Centre.

These goods will be inspected and, if in acceptable condition, you will receive an IPC signed by an authorised Quarantine Officer to show to the Agriculture Department upon arrival in the country of destination.
