An Independent Review of New Zealand's Biosecurity Surveillance Systems - Background and Disclaimer
Background:
The core team of consultants engaged on this Review project by Prime Consulting International Limited was complemented by a larger group of associates providing specific technical expertise. A comprehensive literature review was carried out followed by a programme of semi-structured interviews using a standardised set of questions for three categories of interviewee (Chief Technical Officers and support staff; delivery agencies; stakeholders). Analysis of interview findings was carried out by sectors. The overall issues were then collated for further discussion at a workshop of key representatives of policy and delivery agencies as well as other interested parties. This workshop was held in Wellington on 19 April 2002. Feedback to and from other sector groups was sought via an advisory group. For more information contact Dr Alan Pearson, PO Box 386, Waikanae.
