Update 9
The Biosecurity Surveillance Group is currently developing a strategy for a cross-sector national biosecurity surveillance system that will set the direction for New Zealand's future biosecurity surveillance activities.
A first draft of the Biosecurity Surveillance Strategy framework has been developed. The current draft is an outline, aimed to stimulate discussion and feedback. This draft is currently undergoing review and revision within MAF Biosecurity New Zealand.
We anticipate that a small group of government Biosecurity partner agencies and key stakeholders will be contacted for early comment and feedback on the draft in May, with public consultation commencing in October 2008.
We look forward to contact with many of you in the months ahead.
