Ministerial Advisory Committees

What are Ministerial Committees?

The Animal Welfare Act 1999 requires two committees to be in place.

These committees have been established to provide the Minister of Agriculture with independent advice relating to the welfare of animals.

There are two such committees in force:

1. National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (NAWAC)
2. National Animal Ethics Advisory Committee (NAEAC)
