Animal Health and Zoonoses
MAF Biosecurity Authority's Animal Biosecurity group has responsibility in New Zealand for developing SPS measures relating to animal health and zoonoses in accordance with OIE standards where appropriate.
Plant Health
MAF Biosecurity Authority's Plants Biosecurity group, as part of New Zealand's national plant protection organisation (MAF), has the responsibility of ensuring New Zealand fulfils it's international obligations under the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) and the SPS agreement. It develops SPS measures relating to plant health.

Forest Health
MAF Biosecurity Authority's Forest Biosecurity group develops SPS measures relating to forest aspects of plant health and ensures the protection of the health of New Zealand forests and facilitates access for forest products to overseas markets.
