Codes of Welfare
Minimum standards of animal welfare and recommended best practices for everyone involved in transporting animals in New Zealand are outlined in a new code of welfare issued today by Agriculture Minister David Carter.
Anyone who is organising or is responsible for animals being transported must be aware of the following codes of welfare and comply with the minimum standards in the codes and the general provision

Any person or organisation may draft a code of welfare and submit it to the National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (NAWAC) for consideration.
